lebua at State Tower Bangkok Reviews -On my earlier visits to Lebua I visited the Sky bar. I was always wondering how it would be to stay in such a hotel. We stay there for 4 nights.
The entrance of the building/hotel is not what you expect with such a nice building. You have to enter on a small road to the left side of the building where the entrance of the hotel is located. You have the feeling it is the backdoor of the hotel. When you enter through the main entrance of the building you come into a dark, spooky, deserted shopping mall. No idea why the hotel is not using this area as the "grande" entrance.
Check-in took a bit long and was felt a bit clumsy. It took like 10 minutes before they came to the lobby area where we were instructed to sit and wait. The lady had to come over several times with papers and an ATM terminal to settle everything.
Our room was on the highest floor of the hotel and we had to use the same elevator as all the other people going to the Skybar. Especially in the evening we had to line-up long time and no priority was given to hotel guest.
The room was huge with seating area and kitchen. The floor plan was weird: the living room is completely separated from the bedroom. No TV in the living room and a boring area where you would not spend time for pleasure. May be it is meant as a meeting room for business people.
The bedroom was good and of course the view on the balcony .... magnificent !! We moved the couch from the boring living room to the balcony and we drank every night some beers there, so amazing and relaxed.
The breakfast was good with an average choice of food. The pool is nice but not very large. The water as very clean compared to other pools I have been to. The bathing area was very small. Only 35 beds were available where you expect a lot more for such a hotel. We got lucky and could have a bed the 2 times we went there, but I saw many people had to return back to their room.
We also went to the Skybar on the 64th floor one night. Drinks are expensive (600 baht for a Mojito), but a bit disappointing we did not have any discount as a guest of the hotel.
There are some restaurants and spa's in the neighborhood but the hotel is a bit remote. Better take a cab for 70 baht to Siam square or take the skytrain on a 5 minute walk. - lebua at State Tower Bangkok Reviews
