failing to compete in quality market - Royal Plaza on Scotts Reviews

Royal Plaza on Scotts Reviews - Have stayed here many times in the past 8 years - all at club level. After a few years break we returned and were disappointed. They sent me an online feedback questionnaire. I responded and waited but no-one contacted me to talk further about my experience.
Check in: escorted up to club level where we waited for check-in. It was afternoon tea time so we ordered tea and asked for a tiered sandwich/scone plate while we waited to receive our keycard and sign checkin form. The tea arrived promptly but while other guests received their plates we did not. Eventually we asked about our missing plate only to be told it was now 5pm and afternoon tea was over. I said we had ordered at least 10 minutes before but the response was final and we were told cocktails would start at 5.30.
Club cocktail period: after checking into the room we returned to find the same food left over from afternoon tea (minus the tiered sandwich/scone plates) plus 3 hot dishes - fried yam, and small portions of fish and (from memory) chicken on little saucers. It was inadequate and disappointing. However, the one thing I do like is that they request children not come to cocktail hour - what a great policy.
The room: we had been upgraded to a suite which was quite nice and fortunately we were on the side overlooking the apartment block next door rather than the carpark on the other side. We had no problems with cleanliness or the quality of the room.
Check-out and breakfast: Was quick as we had an early flight. Front reception is always good and this has not changed. The breakfast buffet is always good and this had not changed either - plenty to choose from and always quality food.
Taxi queue: 6.50am and we were second in line for a taxi. The doorman stood and made sure people queued. No taxis. The first person left to find a taxi elsewhere. Everyone waited patiently. After 10 minutes the doorman made a call and a taxi arrived to take us to the airport. We left a number of guests still waiting. Taxis seem to be an issue coming to the hotel and reception does have a sign urging people to order taxis (at an additional cost). Our daughter lives in Singapore and we find it very simple to stand on her street corner or at shopping centres and hail one of the many taxis going past. I don't understand why the hotel does not have a regular flow of taxis looking for fares. We stay at many hotels in Asia and getting a taxis is never as hard as it was at the Royal Plaza on Scotts. Royal Plaza on Scotts Reviews
